Pool fencing regulations are in place to ensure all manufactured pool fencing meets or exceeds the Australian Standards AS1926.1 2007. All pool fencing should be supplied with a "manufacturers compliance certificate" and a form 15 showing specifications of the pool fence panel and the tests that it has passed. If a form 15 does not accompany a pool fence panel then it probably isn't suitable for a pool.
Some small things to look for in the design of a pool fence panel is the size of the vertical tubular members and the gaps between them and the size of the top and bottom horizontal members.
The other important factor to take into consideration is the number of spot welds that are on each vertical member. The industry standard for the number of welds per vertical member is six welds making a panel with this many welds stronger than a panel with only four or two welds.
Specifications of our aluminium pool fence panel:
Top and bottom rails are 38*25*1.6mm wall thickness
NOT 25*25*1.6/1.2mm wall thickness
Vertical round tubes are 16*1.2mm
NOT 16*0.9mm - a much lighter tube not suitable for pool fencing
Our panels have a minimum of "6 welds" per vertical member
NOT 2 or 4 welds like most manufacturers - less strength means more chance of a child gaining entry through the vertical bars
The distance between the vertical members are only 74mm
NOT 84mm like some manufacturers
All of our panels are manufactured in Australian with strict guidelines and to Australian standards
NOT in China or Malaysia where there are no guidlines or strict monitoring - a lot of aluminium pool fencing is imported from China so please ask the questions when buying your pool fence
